I usually dont touch an Anime OST or Character Album since most of the time they dont fit my musical taste and i prefer to understand the lyrics.Its going to stay this way untill i magicaly aquire an ear for Japanese…Or maybe not?
I own so far only 4 Japanese Audio CDs and these came for free with my Shuraki Boxes.I listened to the first CD two times and then i left it in the drawer.Its essential to me to understand what a song/story is about and i wouldnt say that my weeabo Anime Japanese vocabulary really helps in that department.Thats why i dont care about J-Rock/Pop at all (atleast i thought so).I recently stumbled across the OST and Character Song Album from one of my favorite Shows of 2007: Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.I absolutely love the opening/ending of this particular show (and its 2nd season),therefore i thought: Why shouldnt i give it a try? After all its not your everyday Anime Score
Im glad that my decision wasnt a false one!The Score of the Anime is wonderful and actually the right thing to enjoy after a day of work with this laidback feeling the music carries.I dont have to worry about not being able to understand the lyrics at all since most of the score is without vocals(its a score after all DUH!).The few tracks that come with vocals are no problem at all since i know them already through the subbed series.
What suprised me even more was the Character Song Album.I didnt expect too much from it because of the language barrier, but it turned out to be even more fun than the OST!Its true that i cant really understand what these songs are about but they score big points with their crude humor and variety.The songs fit the ill personalities of the characters really well and carry the spirit of the show.In the end its actually fun to listen to these songs even tough i cant understand them.Who would have thought that?^^
I think i should be a bit more open about Anime OST after all.In the end its about enjoying the music!I can recommend both the OST and the Character Song Album from the bottom to my heart.
Are there any other good OSTs out there besides the usual J-Rock/Pop stuff?

Ähmn ja ich hab mich mal dran gemacht nicht nur auf der seite meines bruder rumzulurken sondern auch mal nen kommentar auf dieses thema ab zugeben (ich weiss der text übersetzt sich nich 1:1 eher 1:100 naja egal ^^ ) Die sayonara zetsubo sensei charakter songs sind genial ich ich habs geschafft mit einer der von meinem bruder Bekommenen Cds einen Bekannten so zu nerven dass er mir alles dafür geben würde das ich es ausschalte
Naja Träumerei ist mein lieblings song obwohl ichs halt nur soweit übersetzen kann wie mein Sub English reicht ^^
