My Copy of Shunya Yamashitas second Artbook called Wild Flower finally arrived at my doorstep today!I cant write how gorgeous it is to flip through the pages and take a look at Yamashitas drawings in high resolution.Im glad that i still could get my hands on one of these since the artbook sold out like fresh bread everywhere.I should check the Preorder schedule the next time a bit more careful,then i wont have to pay twice the price (26€) it was supposed to be sold.Play-Asia sure knows how to make a buck from fans of Yamashitas work.
The Book itself features 116 pages and come in A4 format.These Pages divide into the following
- 16 Pages of unpublished Works
- 22 Pages of Figure Designs
- 39 Pages of Videogame Designs
- 23 Pages of Cardgame Art
- 4 Pages of Web & Tshirt Design
- 5 Pages of Magazine Designs
- 3 Pages of something called Monochrome Illustrations
The Book features insight into the Coloring Process of 2 of Yamashitas drawings and comments to some of his works.
I especially liked he alternative takes on Nida Schuettlich and Rei Ayanami that can be found in it.My Scanner refused to work properly so you wont find the picture of the alternative Ayanami but the alternative Designs for Nida.If you can get your hands on this book and youre a fan of Yamashita be sure to grab it.Its worth every cent!

Oh it’s the designer who drew Nida for Shuraki! If I recall properly this artist’s Rei has been figurised too. Radiant Dreamer has mentioned about a Rei figure similar to that pose, so it may have been the one from this drawing.
Yea artbooks don’t come in cheap. I’ve onced bought Noizi Ito’s Gu-ren artbook in Japan, only to find out that there is a much cheaper localised version published several months later around my area… T_T

These Girls are from the Web and Tshirt Section.The Word reckless is printed on their tops.Thats all the clues ive got.Its probably for a website called reckless or a simple tshirt design.

Yeah youre right his Rei Ayanami Design was adapted into a Figure.Shes one of the figures i absolutely LOVE.Luckily HLJ had her on restock for November and i preordered her fast^^
