Ive shown you Aya,the first out of my first three figures that i ordered back in late 2007,last week and this time ill introduce Jungle Emmy.I really loved the promotional pictures i had seen around the net but when she was standing infront of me it was a big disappointment.She looks really cheap,even compared to a mediocre figure like Yamato`s Aya.I didnt bother to look at her since early January and was suprised how much fun i had with her during the photoshooting.I must admit that i like the way she turned out in my pictures.Its weird to see that i once again like her pictures more than the actual figure.
Did that ever happen to you?
Hit the Jump to take a look at her pictures and some general Info on her! (Notice that the last pic is NSFW)
- Name: Jungle Emmy Combat Version
- Scale: Non-scale -> about 22cm
- Manufacturer: Kaiyodo
- Design: Umetsu Yukinori
- Sculpt: Mon-sieur BOME
- Castoff: You can flip up her Outfit and look at her bare eyes.
- Price: Ive seen her around the net for about 12-13€
Emmy is an Original Covergirl of Gekkan Mega Store magazine by Umetsu Yukinori.She seemed to tickle BOMEs fancy and he decided to sculpt her in 3D.She has come a long way since then.The Original Emmy was brown haired,holding a spear and clad in a tiger hide.Her second incarnation is blonde,tanned clad in a camouflage outfit and holds a M-16 Assault Rifle in the one and a helmet in the other hand. and As if 2 Emmies werent enough there was also a third Convention Exclusive Jungle Emmy that features pink hair,cow hide outfit and modified combat gear.To make things even more complicated each version was produced in 2 variants: a japanese version where you can peek at her eyes and an international one where her outfit was glued to her chest.Phew…
What tickled my fancy about this figure,besides the cheap price, was her combat gear and her cheerful smile.If you believe her smile its fun to participate in a (guerilla?) war.The rifle and helmet are well sculpted and fit perfectly into her hands.The custom base features grass,a pineapple and a snail(Yup a snail) and fits easily into her feet.The sculpt is quite well done,considering the price of the figure,hiding most of the mold lines behind her outfit and the like.There are still some lines visible but they arent that bad.The paintjob is alright even tough shes a bit too orange for my fancy and it lacks any shading.Im still wondering why Emmy has bikini tanlines under her top.Maybe she has some time to sunbathe inbetween bloody battles with GAR GAR Guerillas and Cougars?However she acquired them,they look quite nice.
I dont want to praise the figure too much tough.She has obvious deficits that come with her price tag.If you are able to overlook those,have some money to spare and like girls with guns giver her a try.I cant really say that i like her but after the photoshooting i cant say that i hate her either.She has earned herself a display spot in my Detolf,even tough its the lowest shelf^^
On a Sidenote: HLJ had another BOME figure called Lucia on Sale for 8 €.I ordered her alongside my Kanu Figma and Cammy.I wonder if they have gotten any better with the time.Youre gonna find out when they arrive!
What are you doing with the figures you dont like?Are you displaying them anyway or are they rotting in your closet?

Nice pics , again it goes well with the background .
For the price , the figure is nice , i like the hair and the base , it’s a little different than the usual …
And on the last pic , we can see that you are a perv
:p

bome stuff still amazes me for the price.
so far i don’t have anything in my collection i’d label as ‘don’t like’ … i’d probably end up displaying it anyway though ^^;

Ah Bome. Sexy figure. Nice shoot indeed.
i’ve got a few bome figures but not many, for the price they are good figures. but really i tend to expect at least a bit more quality in their products sometimes.
Dancing Queens last blog post..Griffon’s Talho, She’s not 1/6 thats for sure!
Nice shoot. Those are some pretty eyes and thumb. ^^
I like the base and gun. Quite detailed indeed.
I don’t have any figures that I don’t like but due to space problems, storing back some of my least favourites is a likely choice.
Optics last blog post..A few new items…
Nice shoots and they blends well with background ^^

@James
My next shots i took in advance also feature that background.I should buy some other colors asap.
A Perv?Most certainly.A perv with an absolutely amazing thumb^^
@meronpan
Ive seen the recent Bome Figures for about 25-30 € and thats too expensive for my taste with this quality.When they get older and therefore cheaper its a totally different thing.
They are an absolute bargain for 8-13€.
@DancingQueen
Do you own the 2 bunnygirls per chance?I find those pretty tempting but the usual stores have them for around 30€.Id spend the money on them if theyd be of better quality than Emmy.
@optic
Yeah i like the tanlines on the eyes^^
I dont have a space problem yet but ill definately gonna have it after this fall
@everybody else
Thanks!
I’ve arrived here following an E2046 link… I can say that Jungle Emmy, regular version (US), was my first figure as PVC collector (early 2006) and now, almost 70 figures later, I still like her. Like you I was pleased with Emmy Combat Version promotional pictures and I ordered her as well, but when she arrived I become disappointed too. Her skin was too much orange and the M-16 wasn’t placed on the exact same position. So I’ve sold her to a friend, this is what I do with figures that I dislike when they arrive. But I agree that she looks better in the pictures. On the contrary, I think that Kayodo’s Bome Collection have great quality for it’s price. Minor flaws are present in almost all figures from all makers.
Welcome!
What turned me the most off in the beginning was the orange skin aswell.I know its suppsosed to be tanned skin but they made a very bad color choice.
I cant sell off figures no matter how bad they are ^^;;
The Bome Collection has some great quality figures in its line.Especially the newer ones are of great quality.Youll always have to consider the price when looking at figures.I like cheap figures as much as expensive ones.I think flaws give the figures more character.I actually think that most of those nearly perfect figures are rather boring
Since I’m a perfectionist I can’t agree with you
An almost flawless figure pleases me more, but I purchase cheap figures too, like Feldt Grace from Banpresto. If I like a figure, and have the money, I purchase it regardless the quality. The recent released Gwendolyn from Alter is a nearly perfect figure and I’m anxious to get mine ASAP!
Happy new year!
In your review you said the top part of the outfit was glued. In your last photo it shows there is no glue residue on the figures “features”. If there was glue residue, how did you remove the residue without damaging the figure? If there was no residue, how did you remove the top?
Hey there Hernandez!
The International Version of Emmi has a glued top while the Japanese Version (I own) isnt glued to her chest.I simply lifted the top to take that picture
Ive once seen pictures where somebody removed the glue residue from the international Version and i wouldnt advise to do so since youll leave marks on the figure.
I sadly cant remember where ive read that review I would have given you the link otherwise
