Aerocat Asuka
Im finally done with the midterm exam (straight As !) and can return to my usual blogging habits until ill have to get back to school once again for 2 weeks in march.Im glad that i can start to work on my backlog of figures now and im gonna start with the Aerocat Asuka SEGA Prize figure.All things ive said about Aerocat Rei apply to Asuka aswell: great quality for a cheap prize.I wish that all SEGA figures would turn out as sweet as these two.
I think that Asukas personality and a cat combine quite well
Some minor seamlines are visible from this perspective
Id like to try a taiyaki so bad!
Ive had problems with eliminating the shadows with her crouching pose.I hope to figure out how to fix this in future reviews.Look forward to more reviews in the next days! Cant wait to take pictures of my Gathering beauties ^_^

Howdy! Im Blowfish a german afficiando of figures,manga,anime and anything else that is hailing from the land of the rising sun.

You’re on vacation!! SO JEALOUS! RAWR! Asuka kitty is quite cute, makes me miss my own kitty cats at home. I’ll be able to take them back someday!

Cheers! I like Asuka’s pose, but I like Rei’s expression. These are really nice, but I still can’t go and buy myself a Sega Prize figure. Although, I wouldn’t be opposed to it if my husband won them at the arcade for me.

@Blowfish: LOL, congrats on the A! But it can only be “straight” if there’s more than one A. Hence, the phrase “straight A’s”. ^_^ Hmm, Aerocat Asuka ain’t bad. Two questions: (1) Haha, are those annoying aero-wings removable? (2) What is her scale? 1/10th?

that is nice that you got A’s. that asuka figure is really nice and I would love to get the both of them but the figure “reviewer” at anime news network gave it a bad review to both aerocat figures, but then again he is full of crap, lol

Is it Taiyaki what she’s eating?
Posted on February 3rd, 2009 at 04:01
hmm i think Rei version is better than Asuka… this one doesn’t have asuka feel into it
Posted on February 3rd, 2009 at 04:11
Very cute! I love that she’s got taiyaki in her mouth XD

Ah the fish in the mouth reminds me of those delicious biscuits that I can get from stalls during the Chinese New Year (CNY). Ack, I feel like eating some of them! (::

@lovelyduckie
Sadly its not really vacation ^^;;
You have Cats yourself?How come they re not with you?
@Jem
There are people who like to pay more for highclass goods and there are people who are also willing to pay a bit for not that great figures.Everything has it merits.
Your collection would burst if you`d add Prize figures aswell.Its already impressive enough
@Jayman
Thanks for the info! i just forgot to add the `s behind the A. We were tested practical and theoretical.Nope those annoying wings arent removeable…atleast not without force.Hmmm…Tsuki-Board tells me that they are 1/8…
@otakudan
Maybe the figure reviewer had too high standarts? You cant judge a prize figure the same as a full scale figure.You wouldnt compare gashapons with full scale figures aswell.The Design is a matter of taste but craftmanship is great
@phossil
Yup! Sadly i never had the chance to taste them myself.Ive seen taiyai cookies around but not the real thing
@ron~
I prefer Rei aswell but thats probably just the Rei fanboy in me
@persocom
I like the taiyaki aswell
@rin
thanks
@hynavian
Im so envious! Id like to eta some aswell ^_^

interesting looking tail and wings. good thing it’s a fish biscuit she has in her mouth and not a mouse. (‘~’)

My gosh, it would be completely out of control at that point with the Sega Prize figures. There are very few Sega Prize figures that are very cute, but I tend to look at it from an analytical perspective. An example:
This figure cost x amount of $ and that’s x amount of $ I could spend on ALTER figure which is practically a down payment.
I am also a hardcore completionist and perfectionist which is both a good and bad thing. Considering this hobby is more or less brutal with the abundance of pretties coupled with poor economy and other hobbies (video games), it’s hard to pick everything, so I have to be choosy. Knowing my behavior, I get one, I want a complete collection which is why I can honestly admit while there are pretty ones made that don’t have cheap plastic-y skin such as your nekomimis, I am still immune to collecting them.

@Jem: Now tell us what u really think, lol… I can be analytical too, but sometimes sentiment and passion can outweigh the logic. ^_^

I want this Asuka, soooooooo much. Just as much as I want the Witch Asuka…. The Poyoyoyon rock figures are so sweet.
And as for my photo-set up… its not so much a set up as…. a wall light, a ceiling light, and one desk lamp. Set up at the head end of my bed(closer to the wall light above my bed), with a box behind the figure, with whatever background I choose draped on it(pillowcase, shirt, some sort of fabric lol. It’s very-very makeshift…. Any advice on how to make it less-makeshift lol?

@gordon
Haha yeah a mouse would be weird indeed
@Jem
If you use logic your way of thinking is the right one but im no logical beeing ^^
Videogaming has taken a backseat for me at the moment.Theres still a ton of games i have to get…Hope that ill be able to obtain them when i have a new job ^^
@Meimi
Oh yeah that sounds very makeshift indeed! Have you read Superrats Tutorial at HappySoda yet?Im basically using his Setup and it helps ALOT.Its actually pretty basic and not expensive at all

A cute figurine! Nothing’s better than a nice figure for a cheap price.
But oh boy, how much Asuka figures are out there O_O?

Damage to the traces of molds common in Sega, but the figure is just too funny! i love!

@M12
I think theres a close fight between Evangelion and Ikki Tousen Girls going on behind the scenes.Both series have spawned so many figures
@lyli
Yeah i like her aswell ^^

if it wasn’t mentioned in your posts i might not have guessed this was asuka ^^;; great take on the character and an interesting pose! it’s a shame there’s no alter version
Posted on February 24th, 2009 at 09:02
Yeah it would be awesome to see Alters take on both of them
