Flying Pussyfoot

What a new post?Yes! Blowfish is back and has been quite successful the past few weeks!More about that later…Here we have Kanaru,the first Entry into ArtStorms Shunya Yamashita Character Series.Her english name is Canal and just ignore the C and you know what this figure is all about.

Kanaru is based,suprise,suprise, on a Shunya Yamashita Illustration.Its quite interesting that the sculptor didnt  copy the pose of the girl and did his own thing.Its a shame that they didnt go with the original pose but the way shes designed has certain merits (Gordon knows what im talking about).While I would have prefered the original pose im glad that they changed the facial expression from moe to happy-go-lucky.

This is my very first ArtStorm figure and i was really disappointed by the overall quality of this figure.Its sold in the GSC price range and the Prototype looked excellent.The real thing lacks the refinement of the prototype though.The skin is pretty glossy and youll discover moldlines in the typical places.This isnt GSC/Alter so I kinda expected some minor quality issues in that department but what really disappointed me was the bad paintjob regarding the shading.Certain areas on her body(especially back and face) are shaded in a piggy-like skintone.It looks awful depending on the viewing angle and light.I hoped to compensate this with using the red background but it didnt turn out how I hoped.ArtStorm deserves some praise though: Kanaru is pretty sturdy due to the heavy use of ABS (maybe thats the reason shes glossy?)

Whats my verdict? Sculpting is nice and painthob meh….Dont get her for the full price.

Ive gotta say thank you to all the guys and girls that wished me luck during the last few weeks! I did excellent on my manual lymphatic drainage course and was lucky enough to catch a gymn training instructor course for half the price, due to lack of attendees, afterwards.Fortuna blessed me with a new employment as physiotherapist aswell! Looks like i dont need that cardbox I already prepared for living ^_^

Ive been unlucky with my Alpha X Omega  Alice Preorder I did a 3/4 year ago: Archonia had to cancel my order due to problems with their supplier.I did expect this but still hoped to get her one day…Remember: always order from Japan if possible.Gift Saber and the newest Megami issue arrived savely and Reina 2p Colour should arrive any day

Gotta catch up on the Feeds (308 entries) now! Yuck!
