Heres the long overdue Review of Megahouse`s 1/8 2P Reina!Wanna get a peek at a full fledged warriors boobs without beeing sliced up like a Salami? Heres your chance after the Jump!
I have some kinda Love-Hate Relationship with Megahouse.On the one hand they deliver figures that cater 100% to my taste and Im always pleased with their craftmanship.On the other hand they throw you into cold water when it comes to assembling the figures.There may be figures that explain themselves but most of the time you have to be either really patient or a bright moment where you find out the meaning of life and the proper way to assmble the figure.This phenomenon isnt limited to MH SB figures but others aswell like Clare from Claymore.Ive read on several Blogs that they scratched off the paint of her sword due to not existing directions for assembly.They just tried to insert the sword into the sheath and found out afterwards that theres a part you have to remove to proper fit it in.
Dear Megahouse,
Go grab some drunken salaryman off the street and let him draw,write or sing an assembly guide for your figures and add them to the box.It cant be worser than this and would cost you approximately 5 Minutes of your time.Go buy a Shuraki Box and see how its done right.Those figures are a pain to cast off aswell but atleast you know that you suck at doing it the RIGHT way.
I had to rely on a fellow bloggers help once again and yet i cant get the last strip to fit.Cant tell if its my stupidity or a manufacturing fault.Im still waiting for WCloudXKumo`s Response in TsukiBoard and hope to fix it soon
I really love the fact that Megahouse is releasing color variations of the QB figures all of the time.You dont like one of the QB girls?The chance that youll be pleased by the same girl in another colour is pretty high.Reina is one of those cases where I dont like her original color but Im in love with the Alternate one.I prefer this haircolour over the awful yellow a hundred times and her black armour makes her look so badass.Okay the Drill sword is a bit stupid but upon closer inspection i discovered that the handle and knob of the sword are supposed to resemble a Sinep.A wandering warrior needs some company in those lonely hours around the campfire eh?
Pictures didnt turn out too well this time and I didnt dust her off properly aswell ^^;

From wandering Boobies to my newest Loot from E2046.I ordered two Garagekits when they had their big sale aswell as some quality putty.The one I used was utter crap and gave me some real hard time.Im done with priming my Naru and need to purchase some paint for the next step.The Hobby Store closed 2 hours earlier than expected today so ill have to skip on airbrushing her.
CLONES are a fine thing since you can dress all of them differently
While were at it i might aswell post my desk since i rearranged it a bit and i decided to participate in Dannys Contest short before the deadline.I wont stand a chance like last time but atleast I can show off my stuff

That is an awesome colour scheme; much better then her original!
That said however, I am gravely disappointed that you do not like her drill sword. How could you not like it!? It’s a fucking DRILL! Her drill is the drill that will pierce the heavens!

She looks great! I didn’t like Reina much at first since I like Irma best out of the QB character designs and Reina sort of became the face of the franchise, but after watching the first few episodes of the anime, I like her a lot more. You have to admire a girl who gets beat down and thrown off of really tall cliffs but always gets back up and never loses focus.

hahaha, thanks for the great pictures. In regards to color alternatives, it can be both a blessing and a curse depending on the color variation that you’re into. For example, you like a color variation but it is limited to mail-in order or an event exclusive. In my case, it is both a curse and a blessing because I like ‘em all.
You have a nice, organized desk. I mean at least you posted an authentic desk instead of relocating and cluttering it up with figures in some vain attempt to “otaku”-nize your desk just for the contest. Those cluttered looking desks are actually very messy and unappealing to my eye. At least you’ve got a nice, neat setup.

Hmm… I have one of the Reinas, but not this colour, but the pose looks different. I ought to research this before I comment lol. Anyway… I’m keen on the original colour for Reina, but that’s just me

hi there, i also have the same reina as you, although mine is the limited version. as for the leather straps, yes, they are a pain to insert and a bit tight as well. although i can see from your pics that you have one of the back straps in the wrong position. the strap you placed at her right-side back is supposed to be in front and i’m guessing the other strap you didn’t place is the one supposed to be in the right-side back. you can see my reina in my web site since i also posted a review in my site.

I prefer original versions ^^; but was thinking to get this one as she is at discounts almoast everywhere and the 2P color is not that bad but nah… the thing that turned me off is the sword. Pitty they replaced her original with this drill thing.
Was it hard to put her things back on (if u put them back ^^;) ? I rember some torturing with Nanel after removing protecting films. Pluging the last joint on her dress was paaaaain ^^
As for QB i hope they release Alleyne soon ^^

Strangely, I never had a problem with QB figures castoff and they are very easy for me, although I don’t own this Reina figure. Totally agree that Shurak girls are a pain to cast off and after this long, I am still complaining. ^_^”
Anyway, I almost never prefer the color variants of QB figures. For Reina too, I prefer the original color. There’s another older Reina figure and I actually like that better than this one.

Is it just me or do a lot of Queen’s Blade figures look better in there alternate colors?
I don’t own any QB figures but I think the alternate Ymir looks quite nice. Drill hair ftw.

Nice photos! Though I still prefer Reina in her original color scheme. ^^
At least her body shape looks great in the figure, especially her tushie which is generally quite poorly drawn in the anime.

Oh, I love the lava texture on the ground! Very dramatic. Reina looks much prettier here than she does in the anime. Well, I’ve only seen one ep, but yeah. The armor looks very impressive when it’s in 3D, doesn’t it?

Yes,under certain circumstances its a blessing and a curse.I think its nice to have the opportunity to own a colour variation even though its hard to obatin though.You are the best figure hunter i know anyway.I bet you can find pretty much any figure.
Its not like me to fake something.I do know that i wont stand a Chance this way but Im not that hot for winning something.If i win something by beeing me thats fine but I wont bend myself to win a 150$ in Goods

MH released a Reina figures with a different pose around 2-3 years ago but i prefer her in this tesaing pose over the battleready one.It highlights her butt so much better^^

Reina was a big pain in the butt to reassemble after removing the protective film.I nearly spent an hour on the whole process.As for QB Figures: There are so many i cant wait for

Well, if you need a vote, then you have mine for that contest. At least you are being an authentic and honest otaku about it. I mean, come on – how many of us really over clutter our desks with figures and other anime objects to the point of it not being a good place to work. I don’t buy into those contests as it’s insanely easy to spot who has inflated their desk for the contest and whose desk is a natural setup. I thought it was funny and I could have easily cluttered my workspace with figures and cram as much Star Wars stuff or Dolfie Dream dolls to try to get a slight advantage over the competition. I think the people who did do that are really pathetic, imo.
I commend you and your very neat workplace. I am fairly good at hunting down figures, but I can’t say the best. I can’t speak the language^^

Somehow, I’ve never been a fan of displaying figures with the cast off pieces removed. Even with the figures I own where it’s just a towel or cape, I prefer keeping all of the pieces attached.
I guess I just like using all of the items the figure came with. Nadie from El Cazador, in particular, I think looks better with the cape on. It gives more of a sense of motion than when it is removed.
