Clubbing with Baek Changpo
Whew! Finally got another figure review done!This time its one of my favorite figures out there: Baek Changpo.How does Max Factories rendition of the Senko no Ronde Character fare and what the hell is she holding?
Baek Changpo was originally released in April 08 and I instantly fell in Love with her when I saw her at Superrats blog.I totally adore this figure but never got around to order her.I had her in my shopping cart quite a few times but dropped her due to various circumstances.The fact that shes still widely avaiable was one of the factors that came into play.Why “waste” money on a figure you can buy later on when there are much sought after figure avaiable only NOW?
It actually paid off to not order her until a few weeks ago since she ended up in HLJs Sale and I grabbed her in the blink of an eye.They had about 30 pieces of her on sale and the sad thing is that at the end of the sale there were still 12 of her avaiable.Its sad that noone wants to give this adoreable figure a home.My only guess is that the game shes hailing from isnt popular enough?In case you dont know Senko no Ronde heres some reference material:
Basically a mix of a Shmup and BeMU
What drew my attentionto Baek was her clean look-through dress aswell as the genki pose that includes a little teasing.She features Max Factories P.O.L.O. system wich is just another fancy way of saying that shes cast-offable and many guys out there might be disappointed that you wont see boobs.I admit that this cast-off is a bit pointless but oh well there are worse things in the world.
Shes based on this illustration and well they took some artistic freedom XD
Some reviewers had some beef with her face and butt but I like both as they are but this is a very biased review since I like her so much.Without further ado Ill jump directly to the pictures:
I tried something different this time and tried to go for a happy soda-esque shoot
I love the details on her headphones
You can spot the seamlines on her legs but Ive seen worser ones

The P.O.L.O. system connects like any other castoff.No Idea why its got its own name
Boy I love how these shots turned out
I cant tell why shes lifting her pantsu but i approve of it
After playing Plants vs. Zombies I simply had to use my Sunflower background ^^

Ahhh Baek Changpo, she is a gorgeous one. Happily paid £32 for her, £37 including shipping. She’s got a lovely face, I don’t get why people didn’t like it either. She’s got such character, I think I prefer the illustration on the left. Funkier, but as you said, both are really nice.
Good one getting her in the sale. Its annoying when figures that you paid full price for appear in sales, but I don’t mind most of the time. Depends how much the saving is/how much I wanted it and didn’t wanna wait. lol.

Sweet photos. I personally like transparent top and boots on slim legs are always a good thing for me ^_^ While some figures make it through my filter of not getting figures of characters I don’t know much about, Baek sadly didn’t =/ Have learned to never say never though, so she might make it yet into my collection one day!

See-through dress is always a great eye candy for many lol
I remember Danny did mention the POLO system in a post about the Fauna figure. Not quite sure what makes it have its own name other than how it sounds like being technical there ^^;

One of the things that makes figure collecting such a pain, and partly the reason why I don’t plan one collecting many of them, especially after Alter Fate comes in August. It’s without a doubt an expensive hobby.

Is there any figures than being banned to be imported to Germany?. I had been told that Germany is really strict about pornography especially child pornography ( I saw it in Kontroll Achtung).

She’s a really sweet figure but the lack of knowledge and info. about her made me skip her without looking back.

Baek looks great on a desk and stayed on mine for quite some time. I think the pose helps making her feel distinct from the others and the clear dress thing too.

She really is a nice looking figure. I don’t see anything to complain about especially if you got her on sale. Very nice pictures they all turned out great! The background and everything just works with her.

I have seen a couple of her reviews and do find her nice without knowing who she is. I like her colors and actually, based on the image you pose of her, her face looks nicely sculpted to me.
And so, what is she holding? mashmallow candy?

Wow Blowfish, these shots are probably the best I’ve seen of yours
love the speaker ones especially. Dunno much about the character but her face is adorable in my opinion ^^ butts a little weird though 
the transparent clothing is probably the main selling point for the figure, pure awesomeness =3

As for Baek… I do like the way she’s giving us a peek by pulling on her pantsu… but technically her face just doesn’t match with my Aldora figure ^^

I usually dont have a problem with a figure beeing on Sale either but I get pissed when its short after release.But in the end its better to pay more and be sure to get the figure than the other way around.

Yeah,I wonder whats different about the Polo system aswell.Felt like any other cast-off system to me.

I have no knowledge about any banned figures in Germany but Id be careful about Loli figures in naked/sexual poses or that one “female figure with her dog”.I highly doubt that customs would notice this since they give the boxes a really,really quick look and then mark the content as action figure / toy but you can never be careful enough.As long as you stay away from any extreme figures you should be on the safe side
