1st Anniversary – Lets munch some cake!
Yep, this is going to be another one of those “Thank You” and Stat-Porn Posts that popped up quite often over the lasst few weeks.Many Blogs saw the light around a year ago and the FlyingPussyfoot is no exception! Go grab a piece of cake some sparkly water and lets head down memory lane!
The FlyingPussyfoot was born on the 1st of July and this is actually a belated anniverary post ^^;;
Anyways…There was actually a Blog before the FlyingPussyfoot but it was just my playground for installing wordpress and trying everything out.When I was about to post there,I came across a pretty damn good offer of my host and went directly for a selfhosted blog with my own domain instead of the free one I messed around with before.
I know that these posts are pretty boring to most readers but Im doing this post for me and to reminiscence about my first year.Ill insert some bishoujo pictures for all the visitors that were able to sit through this ^^
I started this Blog after having a good time over at DC and reading a few blogs like HappySoda and Riuva.Back in the Day I was writing in German and my first post about importing figures was published on the second of July.A few more posts in german followed about stuff like my Shuraki Loot,JapanDay and Tsuki-Board.Then the magical thing happened: Ive got my first comment from a person I didnt know personally! It was a comment by Canadian Figure Afficiando and Live Feed Master Len-Vesper!(Sadly his Sites down at the moment and I cant link to him) Thanks alot! You really helped me alot when my blog was still in its children shoes.This wasnt only the first real comment on my Blog but an English comment aswell.I soon realized that Im getting more traffic from the rest of the world than from Germany and decided to switch from german to engrish on the 10th of July.I am violating the rules of the english language since then and hope you can overlook my crappy grammar in the future aswell ^^
My first English post is kinda special for me for another reason though: Superrats,the demi-god of figure photography,posted a comment.You have to know that I didnt know anything about the dynamics of the blogosphere back then and it was for me like a miracle that someone like superrats would comment on my blog.

It took me some sweet time but I finally posted my first figure review of the lovely Nida Schuettlich on the 24th July.The comments finally started to flow in and im really grateful for all the people that gave me some advice on how to improve my pictures.Lets take a look at one of the old ones:

Its nice to see that I improved a bit over the last year and I hope ill keep on improving.One of my biggest driving forces to keep improving is comrade meronpan since he started his blog around the same time as me.Whenever I notice an improvement in his reviews my hot-blooded fighting spirit starts burning and I feel the urge to surpass him.This will prove to be a difficult challenge though since he just levelled up his camera and lighting ^^;;;
Well…if my Eternal Rival levels up I just need to train more! Time to put on some ankle weights and practise photography!

Id like to share some traffic stats with you aswell but my hosts statistics seem to be a bit funked up.I missed the chance to install a proper stat-tracker until late November but I believe the Pageview data gathered by Statpress are more realistic than my hosts.

When u first commented my blog, I thought u were kinda annoying. Like ur comments was kinda pissed me off but soon afterwards I knew the person u were like. One of the great things of blogging I found was getting to know the person more overtime and ur clearly one of them.

Yep,its “only” my first year.The Professional Look comes from the Gamzine im using.I just modded it a lil teeny weeny bit and thats it.Its rather unstable though.Doesnt work with alot of Plugins

The Blog went through quite some changes during the last year and im really happy that it turned out like this.Dont feel bad for not having awesome stats though.Thats the last thing you should care about since Blogging should be fun and no task to attract customers.Comments are a better indicator for your blogs popularity than stats.Most of those visitors are searching for H Pics anyways and dont give a damn about your blog.
