July Arrivals + Reorganizing
Finally the last pieces of the big HLJ Anniversary Sale arrived! They werent the only figures Ive got this month though.It took its sweet time but Kanzaki Kaori and Limit Gunz finally found their way into my home aswell
Never Mind the crappy Pics and lets get started with my Problem after the Jump!
Its approximately 1 1/2 months ago that I bought 2 new Detolfs and Im already running out of Space again.There are still some capabilities left in my 3 Detolfs but those require some serious reorganizing.I dont like my shelves cluttered with figures and every figure should be visible from most angles.I like to organize them to certain themes like series,pose,weapon and the like and furthermore they should atleast somehow match in their scale.Most 1/8 figures would fade standing next to a 1/6 one.I am running out of Ideas at the moment and would like to hear your opinion on the matter.Youll find pictures of my Shelves further down the page and if you have a sharp Idea be sure to post it.
All my Scaled figures except for Gift Yoko and Shizuka are placed in one of my Detolfs and Im having a hard time placing those two.The natural selection for Shizuka would be the other QB girls but that would require some figure moving.Yoko should be placed with my other big figures but theres already a Yoko among them and there isnt any space left either.I could easily place both of them on one of the bottom shelves but that wouldnt do those 2 beauties any justice.
I hope you have some bright Ideas
Didnt like this setup from the beginning since you cant really enjoy Seena
Baek is a good figure for the front since she offers good second row visibility
I know that they dont match but Teanas Base was too big for any other Shelve XD
Floor 3: Big Girls,Guns and Yandere
Top Floor:Yamashita and Ecchi Girls
Really like this Setup
I wont change this!
Im still hoping for a Char Rhousemann Re-release
Yes those are Euro Coins…Still need to fix that…Im sooo lazy
Swimsuit Figures
Any Ideas how to restructure the whole thing?

Howdy! Im Blowfish a german afficiando of figures,manga,anime and anything else that is hailing from the land of the rising sun.
Check out my About Page for more Information.I hope youll enjoy your stay on my little Blog ^_^b

Why don’t you just have somone else customize a glass cabinet for you? It would probably like 10-20% more expensive than a detolf but it would soo be worth it!
I’m sure there are a lot of cheap cabinet workshops in Germany.^^

Somehow I feel Teana should be in the same floor as Yoko (must be the guns), on the last floor in the first set. Since Teana’s base is a square, its more space efficient to have her stuck on the (left hand side) back corner (though I personally wouldn’t put them on the ground floor), which will leave enough space for Shizuka (although whether Yoko and Teana together will yield enough space for other figures…I’m not quite sure).
Also, is this from the first HLJ sale or the second?

Nice you got Limit Gunz^^ Love that weapon of hers
??? Seena’s butt she be the center of attention! ^^ hmmm I don’t really know what to say about the problem:/ You have a lot of great figures that deserve to be shown fully but the problem is that most of your figures are standing up so they rival each other. Big figures in back and smaller in front, flashy figures in front and more calm ones in the back. Most prized on top and not so favorite on bottom.You will probably have to break some of your rules^^
Do you have anything near your desk area? You could move some figures here and their, but I guess you would want to keep them from dust-_- I’m fresh out of ideas but will comment back if I think of one:)

Would there be anyone that may have some clear acrylic risers? You can then use then to slightly raise the back ones up to a higher height. I am figuring this would give you some more “floor space” to move the other ones closer to the ones in back.
Nice impressive collection wish I had the darn space for one of those units

The only reasonable way to increase visibility of the girls in the back is to buy some plastic blocks (like what bluedraken suggested) and have them stand taller than the front row. Another option is to place your Detolfs in the middle of the room so you can have a 360 view of them, but it’s hardly practical unless you got a huge room.
‘Tis the reason why I’ve retired my Detolfs from figure displaying duties…it doesn’t look nice when you got more than 2-3 girls in there. My Gift Yoko sits on my desk, and she looks really nice like that.
I’m hoping for that Char re-release too. ^^

Wow thats a lot of figurines. =D
But it is hard to organize them, especially with the different sizes. One easy way is to group them by the product series / size. that will seems more organized. another way is to have transparent block to build a 2-3 level “stairs” inside the display case. this will allow the figure behind viewable.

I only just realized recently that for some really odd reason your feed is not in my feedreader, and I have no idea why.
If you run out of space, that just means you need to sacrifice some “visibility” of certain figures, I certainly did. Well, not with my lights now but in any case, you need to repack them.
Alternatively, plastic blocks and a customized cabinet are also good ideas, but if you want to spend as little as possible, rearrangement. I have no idea how to really rearrange them without being there in person though, so good luck.

Nice setup with the Detolfs, though re-organizing is always tricky, never really sure how well figures will fit together, both space-wise as taste-wise.

Your “swimsuit figures” shelf looks a little empty. Maybe you could move the two from the ecchi girls shelf onto that one. Will it fit?

I definitely can’t help you much on this matter because 1) I don’t own any shelves and 2) my collection is so mixed I don’t how to ‘organise’ mine in the first place… But clear blocks as suggested above is a sound idea.
The bottom levels seem quite spacious, you can perhaps move some down there?

are your nendoroids on the bottom section? o.o. they’re so cute. put them somewhere along your line of eyeview(sorry I hope you catch what I’m typing. it’s 3am + here. im barely awake LOL)
I don’t really open my figs due to lack of space, so i can’t help u there. LOL.

@kizo
I would love to get my own custom cabinet but I doubt that itll be more expensive than 10-20% of a Detolf.A Detolf costs 39,99€ over here and the Glass Cabinets Ive seen around the net all started around 400€.I dont wanna know how much id have to pay for a custom one.
@GnDYnames
Like I said I dont like putting figures on the ground floor aswell.Yoko and Teana would be a good combo but both bases are so big…
Yoko and Rei were from the second and Lala from the first Sale.
@bluedrakon
That sounds like an excellent idea!Do you by any chance know where I could buy Acrylic Risers?I know what you are talking about but have absolutely no Idea what kinda store could have them in stock
@TIP
Im looking into bluedrakons idea.I totally agree that Detolfs look cluttered when there are more than a few girls on one floor.They arent what youd call space efficent but they are cheap and doing their job.Whenever I have the moolah for a real cabinet ill retire them aswell.
Yeah,I saw your Yoko in your otacool post
@B-Mecha
Thanks for the advice! Gosh that I never thought about those blocks until you guys mentioned them.
@Panther
And I thought I did something to offense you and you ignored me because of that lol.
As of now I have to live with rearranging the figures and you better move your butt to germany if you cant give me a long distance advice ^^
@phossil
Yeah,Its one of the few that looks good even thought many figures are in it
@Smithy
Yeah its soooo difficult >.< @Coco
That would be an option ^^
I really hate to put figures on the bottom floor though. Decisions…Decisions… Thanks nevertheless!
@Q
Yeah,the bottom is pretty spacious but like I mentioned I dont like putting figures there since its pretty equal to hiding them.I think Ill give the acrylic blocks a try after I found out here to get them
@Zenical
Yeah I know what you mean and I dont like to ban them to the bottom but I have no space
How about you sponsoring a custom cabinet ?

Ur swimsuit section makes me feel sad.
I guess u don’t love them as much as I do huh
My recommendattion is to stack the figures from the back onto somthing to make them visiable. Like what I’m doing is placing figma boxes at the back of my bookcase so when i place the figures at the back, they will have a clearer view. Off course, their legs are covered by some of my figures at the front so that’s the drawback I had to consider. In addition, most of them are cluttered but I don’t really have a choice due to my limited spacing available.

Well at least you got your detolf set up… I can’t even access mine! For now first floor is all Rei and the second one is Haruhi girls. The rest are boxes right now ^^;;;

As for the bottom shelves, I know that blogger radiantdreamer usually puts low profile figures (i.e. lying down, sitting down etc) there so they can be seen even from a higher angle. Not gonna help much but it’s just a suggestion.

ahhh I am a bad person to talk to about Detolf…. cause I hated it! But put all that aside, the Nendo is taking up way too much space and they don’t even fill 1/8 of the height of that Detolf shelf I bet. They are at the bottom level, can you even see them? I suggest taking them up and put them on top of the Detolf instead.

@Flying-Blow-man: Well, like I told Otaku Dan recently, I’ve always had the theoretical idea of hanging figures from threads to avoid the base problem entirely. But the next problem is now to attach the threads to the shelf or ceiling above, lol. Too much trouble!

Nice collection pictures, mine seems so unorganized compared to yours, but then again almost all of my PVCs are on my desk, then the Figmas and Nendos are in their own spots, except for when I feel like changing things up from time to time.

<3 Kaori and Gift Yoko. I'm actually having 2nd thoughts about my Gift Saber, I thought I could overlook her face because of the amazing armor but now I'm not so sure…it's a tough call. By the way I noticed you're missing Char from your Shuraki, did you skip her on purpose? Or are you holding off until an affordable one pops up? I love Meifen but I still have a terrible time getting the bow on her back to stay put.

@Optic
I know that you are a big swimsuit fan but I never found those as appealing as clothed figures.Theres so much more room for creativity with clothed ones.
I can tell you that Im getting a figure in underwear soon though ^^
That sounds like the most reasonable thing to do.I need to figure out what to use though.
@lightningsabre
Well your case is special …^^;;;
@Q
Thats actually quite a good idea.Thanks alot!
@wolfheinrich
Detolfs arent the best thing for sure but they are the best price/value offering I can afford.The Tops of my Detolfs are already full of Actionfigures…Ill move them to some other place soon.
@Jayman
Tell me when you figured it out and ill gladly test your solution ^^
@Lovelyduckie
You somehow ended in my Spam Folder…
Im perfectly fine with Sabers face.It isnt spot on but not as terrible as some people want her to make.Its up to personal preferences though.
Yeah,I missed Char because my local store couldnt fulfill all preorders and she was sold out everywhere by then.Im still waiting to snatch up a decent priced one when the chance appears.
