Masters of Queens Blade Excellent!! Official Figure & Visual Book
Ho,ho,ho! Youre favorite blogger Blowfish didnt drown in a sea of christmas cookies but merely has been very,very busy with real life.Ive finally found the time to take a break and take some pictures of a book that has been lying on my desk for quite some time. Check out my review after the Jump!
How do you know that youre beyond good and evil when it comes to a merchandise?The answer is simple: You buy a book that features pictures of the figures you have in your own cabinet XD
Masters of Queens Blade focuses on the figure related merchandise of the franchise with a heavy focus on Megahouse`s line of figures.The book features the whole Megahouse Line Up Until late spring 09 and selected figures by other manufacturers aswell as illustrations and other nifty extras.The book even has something for the perverts out there with its sealed Gravure Picture section that features the girls in all their naked glory
The softcover book is a 120 pages strong with nice strong quality paper and is mostly in full colour with a few exceptions like early design sketches etc.The sealed gravure section gave me a bit of a headache since you have to seperate the pages with a knife or scissors to get a look at the busty beauties.My attempt to seperate the pages was rather unsuccessful and I ended up with a bunch of jagged pages.I sacrificed a few milimeters of the pages and used my hobbyknife and a ruler to get a clean look.
The book itself is seperated into Megahouse figures and their Colour Variants,the Gravure Section,other Queens Blade figures,Queens Gate figures,Illustrations and early design sketches,an interview with Megahouse`s figure sculptors and a tour guide to the world of Queens Blade.
Hobby Japan and MegaHouse are some sneaky bastards and added an exclusive figure coupon at the end of the book.I cant really tell for which figure the coupon is but its probably invalid for quite some time anyway.
The book is a nice way to get an overview over the vast Queens Blade figure merchandise and probably gives a good insight into the production process when youre able to understand japanese.The Illustration section gives an insight into the characters and makes the package complete and an interesting addon for the sophisticated Queens Blade afficiando.
I can wholeheartedly recommend the book at the price point of 1905 yen if youre interested in MH`s vast figure releases but if youre looking for illustrations you better place your bet on one of the other avaiable QB Illustration books.

Echidna is probably the figure with the most colour variations from the whole QB cast

Soooo….what have I been busy with?Ive had a Job Interview Marathon the last two weeks and Ive finally been successful last week and got myself a new job.Its alot closer to my place and pays better than my last job and Im kinda happy now that I was fired from my last job ^^
Im still busy getting used to the new work enviroment and I fear that blogging has to take a backseat at the moment until the holidays come.Ill try to write up some posts in my free time but dont expect too much from me until christmas ^^;;;
About a month ago Ive also got a mysterious shipment from england…What could it be?
Yes,I am officially now one of the cool guys and ordered myself a free pack of 50 Moo Business Cards.They come with a moo branding that features a discount code which may bother some but I am not really troubled by it.I wont use the cards for any serious business anyway and theyre free after all!
Be sure to change the Images you want to use into CYMK Mode before uploading them.I didnt and ended up with rather dark prints ^^;;;

That’s pretty cool, I guess you almost need a guide book to keep track of all the Queen’s Blade figures and all the repaints. I should pick it up to take a look at Irma’s figures. Oh wait, no I can’t. BECAUSE THERE AREN’T ANY. Bastages -_-
The business cards look pretty cool XD It’d be pretty cool if they also made playing cards that you could customize with your own photos.

Here’s an interesting book. It gives a good previews of QB figures released so far. And you can drool on those you don’t have (By the way i took NOWA from Griffon who’s sold on HLJ at a cut price. It’ll be my first Griffon…. I hope not to be disappointed.
I’m glad that you found a new job and mainly that it’ll be more interesting than the previous one. It’s no big deal if your blog’s update are less numerous for now. We’ll wait for you quietly

First off I just want to congratulate u in finding a new job. Even when the economy is steady now, job hunting is still tough and many are still jobless. I believe hard work pays off, even in the long run and mate, I reckon u did just that. ^^d
On a unrelated, I do recall mentioning in one of ur post, ur the QB King. Well, let me harsh that out and say, “U ARE THE QB MASTER!!!!!” xD.
This book reminds me of that figure magazine that’s released every month or so. Can’t remember the name but indeed this book is nice and if there was a ‘figma’ book of some kind, I will be sure to get it.

wow, the official visual book has a lot of good photos and illustrations. It would be perfect to complete the queens blade figure collection for those who have it.

I guess the book is pretty uninteresting to somone who doesnt own a few of these figures.I admit that QB figures are a tad too much for some pure souls but I love the franchise to bits.Its soooo refreshing to see such girls in all those moe merchandises.

Heya. I’ve been a little inactive recently too. Only just managed to pick some time to comment on other people’s blogs just now.
This QB book does look very good for 2000 Yen – with it showing all the figures released so far, as well as showing various character designs along with the early designs too! Definitely worth it especially as you’re a big fan of QB!
Say, how does the coupon look like? Maybe we can have a look and see whether it’s still valid

The book really sounds like a great idea. I recently sold all my QB figures and the book would be a great substitution. I am also looking to get the QB card game book for almost the same reason. I have been collecting the cards, but the book would be a much cheaper alternative.
I am impressed that you held the book pages down with 2 hands and still was able to take a picture – LOL
Congrats on the business cards. I got some done for my Photography work, but now have to redo them as I am moving at the beginning of next year. My favs the Yoko one from the shots shown. I will have to do something like this for my photography – thanks for the link!

Typically the kind of stuffs i would buy. I’ve always thought that QB girls were … HOT!!!
That’s a good example of fan service which i found great. But as for many adaptation of games and visual novels, i didn’t like the Animes. Remind me of princess lover who let a feeling of incompleteness.

This is a real bargain for someone like me whos this much into QB but I guess the normal ecchi figure collector might be interested aswell.Its not funny how few free hours the day I am having at the moment.I feel really bad for neglecting all the blogosphere related stuff.

Yep,QB is a nice franchise with many nice girls.
The Anime was actually quite nice after you got over the first very fanservicey episodes.Sure its still loaded with fan service but not as bad as the beginning.

This reminds me I still need to do my QB review :3 I’m seriously considering trying to acquire the QB PSP game and a PSP once I get the money for one. I got to see the final episode of season 2 and it was epic. I might just watch it for a third time today :3 I have to give you thanks for completely changing my opinion of QB, it’s one of my favorite shows of the year now. I might just rewatch them both and back to back soon. So I’m probably way late on this, but if you got any of those cards left I’d gladly take one. Hm, I might have to see if I can get me some of those moo cards for myself if the free offer still goes. Moo says the cat? Woot! That’s a great visual book. I’ve never thought a visual book has such nice figure pictures in it. I only saw those western one and I didn’t like them. The business cards are cool too. It’s really something different that I’ve not seen before. Thank you for sharing! I like this post.

I saw this for sale when I was shopping in stores today. I didn’t pick it up though because I wasn’t sure what the inside looks like and was afraid it might be too ecchi. It looks great though. Now I kind of want to buy it.

@Blowfish: I was in Taiwan at the time. Stores there have a very large selection of everything, even down to the latest comiket doujins and preorders. This was practically in every magazine store that carries Japanese items.
But here in the US, nothing of the sort.
