Okay,okay i admit that i took my time and didnt update the blog the last few days…I wasnt totally lazy tough and worked a bit on my Kit.Its nothing major but ill show you did this time how to pin your kit.

After you sanded your Kit properly and got rid of all the flash you should mock assemble the kit to look for potential gaps to fix before youll start to paint it.You basically drill holes into her torso and limbs,stick a pin (in my case a cut off nail) inside those and youre ready to go.Sounds very easy huh?It is!

Note that i skipped the washing part.Im going to do that right before i start to paint.

So what will you need?

• A Drill (It doesnt matter if its a Dremel or a handdrill both works and you probably have one or the other at home)
• Pins (In my case Ikea Nails leftovers from my last shelf.)
• A plier to cut the nails (once again probably at home)

Thats it!

We want to drill the holes in a way that they are more or less on the same location on both pieces.Take a look at both and check if theres something like a mark where to drill.If theres nothing like that just do it freestyle or mark it with a pen if youre the more acurate type.When you start drilling with a dremel,like me,be careful to not apply to much pressure or you might end up on drilling through the piece.It happened to me and i had to fix the hole with some putty :/

I drilled holes into both parts and ill have to fit the pin now.Notice that i used paperclips in the images but those turned out to be too weak and i ended up using nails.The steps remain the same tough.

Thats it! Just repeat that with every big piece of the figure and youre done with the pinning.I said that is easy!

Instead of the paper clips i used these Ikea nails and their doing their job just fine.

You can see my mock assembled figure in the very first picture.Youll see the parts that need some puttying due to gaps now pretty clearly and start to fix them.I tried that a few days ago but failed pretty bad.Thats why im writing another post about that topic in the next days.

Ill show you how i fixed the hole i drilled into Narus leg though.I just smeared some putty onto her leg and made sure that enough of it was pushed into the hole in her leg.

I gave the Putty a day to dry and sanded off all the excess putty.Dont sand to hard otherwise youll sand away too much.TADA!! As good as new

Some Commenters suggested that my Progress Posts should feature a “How to” section to encourage other people to try themselves on Kits.Ill try to do these as good as i can but please keep in mind that im a total newbie and that there are probably alot better Tutorials out there.Ill try to link to them if possible.

The first thing youll have to do is pick a Kit you want to build.Id recommend a 1/8 Kit because they are neither too big nor too small and wont burn a too big hole into your wallet.Keep in mind that figures with regular clothes will be easier too paint than babes in fancy clothes /swimsuits.Those usually need alot more work on the paintjob due to alot of details/shading of skintone.

I didnt follow that advice and picked a girl in swimsuit and thatll require alot skintone shading and masking with tape later.

You decided on your Kit,ordered it and its finally on your doorstep.First thing youll have to do now is to check out if the Kit is alright (Resin breaks quite easy) and check if no part is missing.Youll usually get a sheet of paper with content and directions with it.

Content and alot of things i dont understand ^^;;

Alright there are no missing pieces and everythings in great condition.We can start with the first step of the Kit preparation: Removing Flash and Sanding.

Okay now lets get back to my humble how to ^^

Youll need the following things to get started:

• A Plier (You probably have one lying around somewhere so you dont need to spend cash on it)
• A Bowl of water (Once again for free)
• A Hobby Knife (Ive seen these around the net for 6-7€)
• Wet Sanding Paper (different grids,about 80 cent a piece)
• A breathing Mask (paid around 3 € in a hardware store)

You probably wonder about the last two items.Were going to sand the figure wet because itll make the sanding alot smoother and reduces the resindust alot.The dust is the reason for the mask because resin is pretty toxic and you dont want to breath that stuff in.

You probably noticed that the Kit is still pretty rough in certain parts and that there are pieces of resin around the more delicate parts.Those unnecassary pieces are called flash and come from the molding process.The better the quality of the kit the less youll have to deal with these kind of things but youll never get rid of this completely.The flash may prevent the parts from fitting or just look ugly.Well have to get rid of this anyway.

You can start of by removing the flash with the plier but be careful to not go to close to the actual part.The force applied through the plier could damage the main part.Im going to show the process with with Naru`s left arm.

You can see the flash clearly and were going to remove it with sanding paper.I start off with a low grid of 180.Wet the paper in the bowl and sand the flash until its nearly gone.

Its nearly gone but the surface is still rough

Its looking already alot better but were still not satisfied and grab a piece of sanding paper with a higher grid (800 in my case).This time you go over the whole arm and smooth the surface.Youll reduce the general roughness and seamlines with this.Be sure that you dont apply too much pressure.

Nice and smooth

Continue until the piece is nice and smooth and do this with all the kits parts.This is essential  for the fitting and overall look of the kit.It wont look good with a rough surface even if your paintjob is superb.

The Dust from sanding 9 pieces

Im going to continue with the rest of my kit like this.Im not too sure about how to handle the clear resin parts tough.I fear that itll turn milky if i sand it the usual way.Has anybody some hints?

WAS?!?!?!1 Ich darf 33,44€ Steuern nachzahlen?NOOOOO!!!

Dieses Satz entsprang meinen Lippen als Ich mein erstes Paket aus dem Land des Animemerchandises bekommen habe (gut das müsste eigentlich China sein aber ich meine Japan du Depp!).Damals durfte Ich dank glänzender Abwesenheit meinerseits, als der nette Herr Postbote das Paket zustellen wollte, auch noch bis nach Ratingen tuckern um es persönlich entgegenzunehmen.33,44€ ärmer düste Ich schließlich mit dem Wissen das mein ach so toller Preisvorteil gegenüber hiesiger Händler auf nur noch ein paar €uro geschrumpft war nach Hause.

Hah ! Nimm das freie Marktwirtschaft! Ich lach dir ins Gesicht HAHAHA!

Damit es euch nicht so wie mir ergeht habe Ich deshalb diesen kleinen Guide erstellt.

Ihr habt euch also entschieden etwas aus dem Ausland zu bestellen?In Zeiten des Internets,Paypals und von Prepaidkreditkarten ist dies ein Kinderspiel!Aber was sollte man dabei beachten?

Ich werde in diesem Guide alles exemplarisch an dem Import von PVC Figuren aus Japan erklären aber generell ist dies auf alle Waren anwendbar.

1. Vergleich mit hiesigen Händlern

Ihr habt also das Produkt eurer Träume gefunden?Es ist sofort verfügbar und der Zeigefinger juckt schon und möchte die Bestellung abschicken. ACHTUNG! Nur weil das Produkt im Ausland/Herstellungsland angeboten wird muss es noch lange nicht günstiger sein als in deutschen Landen.

PVC Figuren aus dem Ausland bestelle Ich bei HobbyLinkJapan (kurz HLJ) www.hlj.com .Die haben selbst unter den Japanischen Firmen echt günstige Preise.Man bekommt dort geschätzte 75% der Waren günstiger als hier.Die Freude über das vermeintliche Schnäppchen sollte euch jedoch nicht das Hirn vernebeln.Schaut nach ob es die PVC Figuren in deutschen Shops wie www.j-stuff.de oder fistco.com vielleicht doch günstiger gibt.

Haben das auch alle Mann getan? Ja? Schön! Aber haben wir da nicht was vergessen? Genau!

2. Versandkosten

Natürlich!Die ganze Chose muss natürlich noch um die halbe Welt geschickt werden(Oder eben von Hilchenbach nach Wanne-Eickel).Das kostet natürlich auch noch was…Deutsche Shops nehmen so grob 4-5 €uro pro Paket,Japanische Shops dann aber eben schon was mehr.

Der ganze Krempel muss ja von Japan aus erstmal in ein Flugzeug gestopft werden und fliegen lernen.

Der Preis richtet sich nach Versandart und Verpackungsgröße(also keine Elefanten aus Indien importieren!)

Es gibt 2 gängige Internationale Versandarten:

EMS(International Express Mail) Düs!Düs!Düs!

SAL(Surface Air Lift) *Gähn* Ist was?

EMS ist ungefähr in einer Woche bei euch angekommen,übers Internet verfolgbar,sicherer und TEURER

SAL ist laaaaaangsam aber BILLIG.Wenn irgendwann mal Platz übrig bleibt im Flieger darf euer Paket mitreisen.Andere Pakete (EMS) haben aber Vorrang.

Mein letztes SAL Paket hat ungefähr 22 Tage von Japan nach Deutschland gebraucht 0.o.Es hat bestimmt ein paar Tage in Thailand Urlaub gemacht,die Sau!

Beispiel:

EMS 16,28€ (2800Yen)

SAL 7,71€ (1280Yen)

Deutscher Shop:

2,50€ Unversichert

5,70€ versichert

Fassen wir also nochmal kurz zusammen:

Deutscher Shop: 49,40€

Importieren: 35,35€

Bisher fahren wir ja ganz gut mit unserem Import der PVC Figur.Was man jetzt aber ganz schnell vergisst:

3. Der Zoll

Bei der Einfuhr von Ware in die EU und Deutschland stehen Steuern an!Aber es gibt doch eine Freigrenze werdet ihr euch jetzt denken.Ja die gibt es! Aber momentan ist diese leider momentan ein Witz.

Die Freigrenze beträgt 22€.Je nach Kulanz des Zollbeamten kann diese aber auch mal höher liegen.Meine Akatsuki Mishiro ist damals zum Beispiel trotz eines Warenwerts von 27,64€ durch den Zoll gekommen.

Ist immer so ein bisschen Glücksspiel mit den Zöllnern.

Ab und zu findet ihr auch so tolles grünes Band mit dem euer Paket versiegelt worden ist.Dann hat es wohl einen Zöllner gepackt und der wollte unbedingt ein bisschen mit euren Figuren spielen bevor sie an euch geliefert werden.Also macht der euer Paket auf,guckt ob noch irgendwelche Ü-eier dazwischengerutscht sind,spielt ein bisschen mit den Figürchen( aber echt nur ein klitzekleines bisschen ^^) und packt dann alles wieder ein.Ach was sind Zöllner doch für liebenswerte Menschen

Aber da die Zöllner zuviel mit den Figuren spielen hat der Zoll sich entschieden die Freigrenze auf 150€ zu erhöhen

Mit Verordnung (EG) Nr. 274/2008 – veröffentlicht im ABl. (EU) Nr. L 85 vom 27. März 2008 – wurde unter anderem die Wertgrenze für die so genannten Kleinsendungen (Artikel 27 der Verordnung (EWG) Nr. 918/83 – ZollbefreiungsVO) von derzeit 22 Euro auf 150 Euro angehoben. Wirksam ab dem 1. Dezember 2008.

Bis dahin muss man leider auf sein Budget aufpassen oder eben gewillt sein Steuern zu zahlen.

ACHTUNG!!! Die erhöhte Freigrenze  bezieht sich nur auf EU Steuern!19 MWST fallen noch immer an!!!

Sollten Steuern fällig sein setzt sich das folgendermaßen zusammen:

Einfuhr von Waren in die EU: 6%

Deutsche Mehrwertsteuer: 19%

Das macht Ware die über 22€ kostet 1/4 teurer

Beispiel:

Importierte Akatsuki: 42,26€ (Warenwert über 22€,Zöllner war nicht kulant)

Deutsche Akatsuki: 49,40

Wie ihr seht hat sich das importieren mit einem Plus von 7,14€ in eurem Geldbeutel bemerkbar gemacht.

Der Unterschied zum Deutschen Shop ist momentan noch so dünn wie ein Crepe und mit längerer Wartezeit verbunden.Spätestens ab Dezember 08 sollte sich das importieren von Dingen aus dem Ausland jedoch wieder richtig lohnen.

Wer jetzt aber was spezielles sucht das auch nur im Ausland verfügbar ist der kommt nicht darum zu importieren. *Klick* *Klick* *Klick* Bestellung wurde an den Händler weitergeleitet.

Zeit die Ware zu bezahlen!

4.HER MIT DEM GELD! UUUUARGH!

Heutzutage gibt es 2 ganz einfache Wege die soeben bestellte Ware zu bezahlen und dann hoffentlich bald in den Griffeln zu halten:

Paypal (nimmt heutzutage ja fast jeder OnlineShop an)

Prepaidkreditkarte z.B. von der Dresdner Bank ( für die ignoranten Subjekte die Paypal noch nicht als Gottesgeschenk angesehen haben.)

Sooooo…Damit wär auch schon alles erledigt.Einzige was ihr jetzt noch machen müsst ist Däumchen drehen,aufs Paket warten und hoffen das kein böser Zöllner damit spielt
