I dont think that Ive talked about it before but I am playing Busou Shinki Battle Rondo for ages and always have been on the lookout for some of their figures.My time did come when AmiAmi sold them at an insane price and I snatched two of them without further thinking.A short time later I also poisoned Persocom into Busou Shinkis but that another story ^^;;;

Ive been pretty sceptical when Max Factory announced the Di:stage system since Ive had my fair doubts about it considering its usefulness and price.I nevertheless ordered 6 pieces of them when they were released and finally got around doing an review of them.Check it out after the Jump!

Di:stage is basically an action stage thats concepted for use with figmas,but it basically works with any small scale action figure.The basic set consist of one poseable arm for figures, 3 arms for speech bubbles/sound effects + addons,4 plastic pins,a vertical base connector,a horizontal base connector, four frame pieces and of course the stage itself.Theres also an di:stage extension set avaiable for further enhancement wich I didnt purchase.Both come at a price point of about 550 Yen which seems like a cheap price but youll have to keep in mind that youll need several sets to really use the advantages of the di:stage line.Like Ive mentioned before Ive ordered 6 di: stage basic sets and even those are far from enough to make any sophisticated stages.Lets say you want to make a very simple,straightforward stage where 2 figures are simply fighting each other…Youll need to buy 2 stages simply because you need 2 arms to pose your figures with…

I didnt find that idea too great and tried out the arm that figma figures come with and SHAZAM! they do work with di:stage but offer a smaller range of movement than their big brother.Id prefer to use one of those anytime over buying a second stage simply for another arm though.One thing I noticed while playing around with the di:stages is that a more than one figure per stage ratio isnt really looking good since it looks far too crowded.This means youll probably end up buying 2 stages even though you have an extra arm from your figma…

You probably already guessed where Im heading here but Max Factories di:stage system is quite an expensive product in the long run since youll have to buy several pieces of it to get any satisfying results.

Ill give another example to show how many di:stages you actually need for a very simple setup.Max Factory is offering some templates for use with their di:stage for download on the figma homepage.I thought that the release of the system would soon spawn many fan templates but sadly there havent been any noteable releases yet.I wish that the figma homepage would atleast offer some blank templates to make your own custom templates but nada.Lets say youll use the classic japanese home template for your di:stage.Youll need 2 stages for the floor and 2 for the walls.Thats already a whopping 2200 for a diorama that 2 figures can use.Lets assume youre doing a classroom diorama and its already adding up to 8 stages…

Theres the option to use thicker paper so that the walls stand up by themselves but I couldnt get this to work.The paper youre using for the templates has to be rather thin or otherwise it wont fit into the designated slits of the di stage frames.Another annoying thing I noticed about the templates is that Max Factory made them a tad too small and the dotted line that idicates where to fold the paper is actually visible on the floor.It could be that they fixed this issue with their 2 newer releases but the older templates have this flaw.

I know that this review has been rather negative so far but the distage has its merits aswell.The stage allows some kickass poses with your action figures that would be rather hard to pull of without it.The poseable arm has a adjustable claw thatll snuck nicely around the usual suspects like petit nendoroids,figmas,Revoltechs,Fräulein Revoltechs and probably Yamatos Figutto line.

In the end I can only say that I am still skeptical when it comes to the Di:Stage System.It simply isnt offering value for money in my opinion since youll need quite a few sets of it and those 550 yen do add up quite fast.Im pretty sure that therell be further addons to the di:stage line but right now I wont spend more cash on this.Right now Max Factory is offering some sort of cabinet set that well keep your action figures behind plastic besides the basic and extension set .I prefer my figures readily avaible to play around with but im sure some might find this interesting.

This is my first Nendoroid Review and I had a hard time to figure out how to review a Nendoroid.In the end I came to the conclusion that the best way would be to show the nendoroid in action.Ready for an angry housewive and tentacle grape?Here we go!

Okay,okay I admit that this was kinda silly but my creativity is taking a holiday in a sunny spot while Im stuck in rainy Germany.What can I say about Kyouka?I absolutely love her angry face and I recently noticed that all the Girls that have the angry face option in my collection are wearing it.Is this some kinda angry girl fetish that I developed as an anti-moe weapon? XD

There isnt really much to say about Kyouka since shes of solid Nendoroid quality and well yeah is there more to say about Nendoroids?I guess her stand is worth mentioning since it isnt the usual nendoroid stand but one where shes resting on top.Another thing worth mentioning is the fact that shes coming with her daughter Gekka,who has two poseable tentacles (RAWR).

I do only own 2 Nendoroids so fart and Im kinda hestitant to buy more Nendoroids since they are kinda pricey in my opinion.Some of them are only a few bucks below the scaled figure pricetag and I do prefer those most of the time.Saber and Kyouka-sama both were figures that were on Sale and the only other figures id love to own are Itoshiki-sensei and Sakura.I hope Archonia will have them long enough in stock since most other shops are already sold out loooong ago and my budget is already tight.

To Conclude this short review Ill present some more Kyouka goodness

Did I mention that Kyouran Kazoku Nikki is a fun series with a great main heroine? I rarely like this character archetype but I love Kyouka-sama ^^

You may remember the problems I had with my Kanu Unchou Figma and her spear.That incident really lowered my expectations of MaxFactories Figma line.Action figures are supposed to be sturdy and not easy to break as far as i know.I favored Kaiyodos Revoltech line since they are big,sturdy and cheaper than their mostly better looking Figma counterparts.I think i can erase the sturdy part about Revoltechs tough…

I recieved my Fräulein Revoltech Yoko yesteday alongside some other goods and when i unboxed her it hit me in the face.It seems that i recieved a Yoko with a broken Arm Joint.I found the Arm right beside her in the box.The box was in mince condition and its supposedly a manufacturing fault.I gotta mail HLJ about it later and i really hope that theyll send me another piece.I hope theyll send her along my Saber/Yoko order to save postage fee.

I hope theyll answer soon enough so that ill be able to fix her with some superglue and finally can play with her.Cant wait to switch Reis head with her^^

My brother finally got his first “real” PVC figure along my order and boy she has a quite big box!

This is the first time I saw one of the famous Griffon bases and I was quite shocked at the size!Ive seen them on several Blogs but its a complete different thing when you see them with your own eyes.Teni is one of the bigger figures and the base seems supersized.I can only imagine how big the base will appear with smaller sized figures.

The last thing in HLJs order were some Dengeki and Megami issues and its the first and last time I imported them.I didnt really think about the postage fee and just dropped them in my shoppingcart since they were so much cheaper than in shops over here.The end of the story is that i paid a whopping 50 € postage fee for 2 figures and some magazines.Im glad i splitted it with my brother! Remember! Dont import Magazines! Itll cost you an arm and leg

Ive got an response from HLJ and they try to contact Kaiyodo for a spare Arm since shes sold out at HLJ.If they cant organize a spare part they are going to take her back and refund my money and shipping costs

Oh what a wonderful day! I have my day off and the postman delivers 2 small boxes from HLJ^^.The Content and my EPIC Fail is right after the Jump!

Its the long awaited Kanu Figma plus Cammy and Lucia that ive bought for 70% off at HLJ`s Clearance Sale!In the end i paid more for the figma than for the other 2 figures

Ive only had experience with Revoltechs so far and i was quite excited about my first Figma.They feel alot more like PVC Figures in contrast to the plastic feel of Revoltechs.Kanu feels really fragile compared to  Asuka/Rei/Revy and i am quite scared to break any of the joints.Ive read about the weak joints in alot blogs  and tried to be as careful as possible.While all the joints are still intact i failed in another department: Kanus spear.I havent had any problems with Reis Lance of Longius so far but i already scratched off alot of paint of the spear when i tried to put it into Kanus hand.The  paint is now in Kanus hand and the spear shows ugly white plastic.I didnt use any force or did anything else wrong…The paint just went off.I wonder if other people are having the same problem with Kanus Spear…

I display Kanu without her spear right now because i dont wanna scratch more paint off.If anyone has a hint on how to fix this ill be grateful.

My final “My first time” post is about one of Gainax moneyprinters: Rei Ayanami.Ive found her in HLJs Clearance Sale  for 70% off and ordered her along my other 2 figures last year.As you probably already noticed shes an Actiondoll of Medicoms Real Action Hero Line.Those feature a great detail on the figures clothes and a high price.Those Suckers will burn a hole of 90-100€ into your wallet if you buy them at their regular price.That are some big bucks for a big actiondoll but are they worth the money?

First off ive gotta say that you should also check out lu-ks RAH Goku review to get a look at a newer RAH model.Keep in mind that mine is an older model from early 2007 and it probably lacks alot of features of the newer actiondolls.It seems that Medicom tweaked the body of their dolls over the last year to allow more poseability.After all thats what we buy those things for!

Rei comes in her sewed trademark outfit:the white skintight plugsuit.Its made of a stretchy material thats pretty close to imitation leather and to make the overall appearance more realistic are the chest-and kneeplates made of hard plastic.Her chest is bandaged with real bandages and its a shame that its in such a hidden area.I was pretty impressed with Medicoms work here.They have put alot of work in the little details and finished it off with nearly no flaws.The Plugsuit is one of her strong point but also her biggest disadvantage.

The Plugsuit is too tight and allows nearly no poseability of the legs or body.Im pretty sure that this is NOT a problem with the articulated body and is all the plugsuits fault.This limits the poseability to Reis head and arms and even there is one little problem: her right arm is banadged and has therefore a very limited movement.I didnt expect this when i was buying an actiondoll.I can live with it since im able to put Rei in my favored pose and didnt pay too much for her.Im very sorry for the customers that paid alot of money for an actiondoll and got a figure with very limted poseability.Dear Medicom you absolutely failed in this department.

Where Medicom scored is the expression on Reis face that captures her personality really good.The RAH female body gives her the look of an grown female wich isnt a bad thing.Combine that body with her face + plugsuit and you get a nice looking figure with a big disadvantage that should normally be her advantage: the poseability.Thats absolutely not acceptable for this price but it seems that Rei is the only RAH figure that has this problem.I once again urge you to check out lu-ks blog for further RAH coverage.

Ive fallen once again prey to the evil,evil Ikki Tousen merchandise.I knew about the Kanu Uncho Figma for quite a while,but i didnt consider buying her.I dont really like Kanu and dont know why everybodys so hyped about her.Yet I preordered her yesterday!Kanu is going to be my very first Figma and im kind of thrilled about trying her out.I only own Revoltechs(Regular and Fräulein) so far and they seem far inferior to Max Factorys Figmas.The poseability of the Fräulein Revoltechs really disappointed me.They look way better than the regular Revoltechs but are less poseable tough.

I bet many of you wonder why i ordered Kanu even tough i dont like her?I surfed on Wcloudx (kumo)`s Blog some days ago and spotted a Ryomou Shimei Figma.That means i can finally make my dream come true and let Ryomou kick Kanus Butt big time^^
