One bad day…

This Friday has to be one of the worst days of my life…I had a toothache since wednesday and had an appointment with my dentist this friday.I already expected that its once again my wisedoomtooth since hes always the one thats bugging me.My dentist told me that its best to yank it out since its such a troublemaker.No problem…He did it.No Pain No regret… just feeling a little funky from the anaesthetic and a swollen cheek.

On my way back home i get a call from my boss on my cellphone and hes telling me that he has to fire me the end of the year because of economical reasons…great…simply great…Im looking like a hamster and will be unemployed on the 1.1.09…Now all that was left was taking care of my mother that couldnt move her arm due to an accident an needed help…

In short: I wont have too much time to post anything lenghty the next few weeks since i have some personal reasons to take care of.Ill try to squat some short posts inbetween but dont expect anything spectacular.

Time to write some application letters !

The Dengeki Daioh Trip!

The last time i visited my favorite bookstore they had the September 08 Issue of the Dengeki Daioh Magazine on Sale and i was tempted to get it.I usually wouldnt pick up something like this tough since i cant understand a word and can only guess whats going on.I found out a short time later that the Dengeki Daioh serializes alot of Series that im watching right now/Im reading translated and i decided to pick up one issue for fun.Hey after all there are still the extras i can have fun with if it turns out to be boring!

I had to take the Train to Düsseldorf to pick one up and thought why shouldnt i take some pics along the way to show a bit about the Japanese parts of Düsseldorf.

Düsseldorf (デュッセルドルフin Japanese) is the capital of the german state NorthRhineWestphalia (NRW) and a neigbouring city of my little hometown of 56000 citizens.Düsseldorf itself has a population of 582000 citizens with 19% of it beeing foreigners.The high percentage is due to the excellent transportation system of Düsseldorf including an International Airport ,wich is the third largest in Germany with 16 million passengers a year, and a strong healthy international economy.Among those foreigners are about 7681 japanese making it the largest japanese community in germany and the third largest in europe.Since most of them are leading personalities staying for a short amount of time theres need for a proper education of their children.Thats why the city established an International Japanese School and several Kindergarden that those kids are ready for the harsh japanese schoolife after they return.

Even though most of them leave for their motherland sooner or later they had a big of influence on the city be it economical or cultural.Theres for example the Eko Haus offering Japanese,Calligraphy ,Ikebana classes along with Events like the tea ceremony aswell as buddhist events.You can enjoy the Silence in the Japanese Garden in the Nordpark(1 2) or go for a round of shopping on the Immermannstreet.One of the biggest and most popular events in the area is the Japanday with its japanese fireworks wich i attended this year(I was only able to take some poor pictures before the rain started tough).

So much for the pretty talk ^_^

The bookstore that sells the Dengeki Daioh is located close to the Immermann street with its various Japanese Shops and Restaurants.Thats why i only took pictures of those places.If theres an interest in the other places i mentioned drop a comment and ill try to take some pictures if possible.Most shopowners dont like people running around with cameras taking pictures of their shops(i asked at first and they acted like i was a spy) thats why most of these pictures were taken the Ninja way and didnt turn out too well.I always wonder how Danny is able to take all those pictures in the shops/restaurants…Either hes famous enough that they let him or hes a better Ninja than me…

Alot of those pictures were pure crap and i didnt use them at all.Keep in mind that there are a lot more Japanese Shops/Restaurants than the few in those Images!

Mitsukoshi is basically a shop that sells local goods to japanese Tourists.It exists in various places in the world selling the countries specialities.It usually located next to a japanese frequented Hotel (like Nikko) or the like

Okay im a scaredy cat and just took pictures in the not personell observed back part of the shop.Usually alot of noisy brats hang out here making trouble.Somehow NONE of them was there! They store Artbooks,Mangas,Figures in this part of the shop.You can also buy some convienience products there tough!

Okay i prefer this grocery store over the Japanese one next to it.It is much more organized and also has everything the Japanese one has.

I always wondered why they sell silent water like Volvic in those Asian Stores.I know that they use it for cooking tea but you can buy that water anywhere…No need to buy it overpriced there…Weird!

Finally the third bookshop! They sell lots of Otaku Goods like Megamis,Dengekis and even figures!Small shop no chance for ninja pics ^^ Just picking up the Dengeki Daioh

The sad thing is even tough there are that many japanese hotties in the area i somehow dont meet them outside ;-P

There are many talented figure photographers out there but when someone asks me wich of the countless ones is my absolute favorite theres only one answer: superrats.He has the talent to take a figure and arrange it in a way that you simply cant resist buying the figure.I dont know where hes pulling his ideas from but they always underline the figures beauty resulting in gorgeous aesthetic pictures.I am a person that prefers to hold things in his hand instead of looking at the digital counterpart and i was really pleased to hear that superrats planned to make a Doujin of some of his favorite shots.He completed his Doujin last month and offered it for a limited time,with the doujin spirit in mind,as a softcover book via LuLu.

My Thoughts and Pictures after the Jump!

First off ive gotta say that all the pictures in this Doujin are great but im really pleased that some of my personal favorite shots made it into it.Theres nothing more satistfying than finally owning them as a physical copy.The Doujin is a 68 page piece with mostly one page shots and casual 2 page shots.The greatest pictures wont look good if the printer messed up though…The Printing on demand service LuLu did a good printing job in my copy: crisp colours,no printing errors and good paper quality.Theres one exception tough: the glossy cover lacks those attributes.Some of the colours look like they couldnt have been displayed right and result in looking kinda out of place.Its like when you had your monitor on 256 colours and display a 16 bit picture….Its not bad because it only happened to the white but i still wanted to mention it.

I wasnt pleased with LuLu prices and billing system.I first placed my orders 2 days before the final deadline and i wondered on the final day why i havent got a status e-mail or something similar.Upon Investigation i found out that they messed up my order and after some meddling with their online customer support (wich is very nice and good) i was able to order it again.LuLu somehow decided to raise their shipping costs 4€ and the Doujin price 2 €.What an unpleasant suprise….I still had to get the Doujin tough….It was a pricey choice (i could have bought an older Kotobukiya figure for that price) but worth every penny.The Doujin arrived 7 days after it was printed in Spain on my doorstep via UPS.

Its getting colder…Time for Manga!

Ahhh…Its that time of the year…The days get shorter,its getting colder and Id like to stay in my warm cozy bed all day instead of heading out in the bad cold world.One of the greatest things to do while slacking off in your bed, is to spend it reading some beloved Manga.I had a craving taste for some sweet Manga sessions this week and i headed off to Düsseldorf to get a new stash.The world is a gruesome place and the usual places didnt have any of the Manga i intended to buy in stock…I usually buy my Manga on Amazon but i had such a strong urge I coudnt wait that 1 day for delivery.

I ended up with some series i didnt consider to buy (yet) but my hunger had to be satysfied.As you probably noticed there are even some LoveComedy/Harem Mangas among them.Oh Shame…well the Truth is out….^^

Jump!Jump! ShonenJump?

Genshiken needs no introduction since its basic otaku knowledge.I enjoyed the first Volume and didnt expect to get so much joy from it even tough i watched the Anime alot.I was pretty unsure about picking it up since i feared it would be too close to the Anime.Im glad that this didnt turn out to be the case.From Otakus that prefer 2D girls to 2D Girls with Guns:Zeroin.I picked up the second Volume because there werent much other choices in the stores…I once ordered the first Volume and didnt know what to think of it.Its a typical Loser guy meets a kickass schoolgirl that is a parttime private police agent(for other manga change this to secret agent,demon slayer,alien whatever),falls for her and well shooting,breastfondling,accidently walking in when shes changing blablabla.I cant really say anything about this Manga.The Art or Story isnt really bad nor really good.Its a pretty mediocre manga and i hope therell be some kinda twist to it sooner or later.

I picked up IWGP up because it seemed like a pretty interesting setting thats after an award winning japanese book.Its about some buddies that hang around In Ikeburo West Gate Park and after one of their friends gets killed by a serial killer they try to take law into their own hands because they think that the police is too incompetent.Im going to follow this one for sure since it has some interesting developments at the end of this Volume.Ive gotta say that i dont like the artdirection tough.Not my cup of tea

The only Manga i wanted to pick up and were in stock are Volume 14 and 15 of 100% Ichigo.Its a typical Harem Love Comedy with lots of girls falling for one guy that doesnt know back from front.Its nothing revolutionary but i enjoy it alot.My Socialization with girls is at the same level as that 18 years old airhead of a male lead.^^;

And the last Manga i bought is To Love Ru wich is called Love Trouble over here.I havent seen the Anime and heard that the Manga is supposed to be ecchier and better than its animated counterpart and its fun so far.I didnt expect any tentacles to appear already in the first volume but here they are!I just pray that this wont end in a monster of the week kind of thing.More naked Lala and less monsters plz.

The next time ill order my Manga from Amazon again to make sure that i actually end up with Manga i want to buy and not pick some out of frustration.Whats your Manga source?

I was blackmailed invited by Panther to join the sect worshipping the allmighty pantsu his neat little Otaku group called TeamBlue.Its mostly made up of Singaporeans but some poor souls outside of SG did join aswell.Does anything change?Nope everything stays the same except for some flashy banners that will pop up in my sidebar and advertise some of the other members blog.

Im in a pinch right now…I wrote about my Preorders in my last post and and how i adore the Creators Labo Rei Ayanami after a Shunya Yamashita Design.I preordered her in an instant when i heard about her re-release since i knew from reviews that Yamato actually did a good job on her.The Dilemma im in is actually James fault for posting his Reviews on several figures from E2046s Gathering line.They are basically already painted Garagekits…There is one thing that bugs me about Yamatos PVC Rei: She doesnt come with the Bandages the Kit comes with (and well she isnt castoff ^^;;;). I always had an Eye on their Gathering Rei but didnt want to cash out that much money.

Well whats Rei without Asuka?It just feels wrong right?Thats why E2046 decided to turn Asuka into a ORI figure that seems to be after another Yamashita Design i didnt know of.They are offering her as a Gathering figure as well…

You know im a total sucker for Yamashita Designs and well i wouldnt mind a castoffable Asuka either…You can check them both out here.Thats some mighty cash they want for both of them but as far as ive seen across the blogosphere the gathering figures are worth every penny.

I wonder if i should cancel my PVC Preorder of Rei and go for both?They restock them in January and i guess id have some sparemoney from chritsmas by then….I have a bad feeling spending that much money tough…

That E2046 is constantly sending me newsletters with Pics of both of em doesnt help either…

The Creators Labo Rei is the cheaper alternative for sure but it would be stupid if i order the Gathering figures later tough. ARGH! IM IN DESPAIR!

New Artbook get! Rei Hiroe - Barrage

What a pleasant suprise!I didnt expect this item to ship sooner than early november but it was lying on my doorstep this morning.It took only 8 days to arrive and is the fastest SAL shipment i ever had from HLJ.The patience i needed for the book to get in stock again finally paid off.I was lucky and paid it before the big stock crash and had to cash out only 13 Euro.Its probably around 16-17 Euro by now. Lucky me!

Im a big fan of Black Lagoon and those people will probably get the most joy out of this artbook since it takes up alot of the space.There are some Artworks from other things Hiroe worked on like Shook up,Fate/Stay,Ray Field and Phantom BULLET but those are in the minority.The latter one deserves one more mention tough because the second half of the book features the first 4 chapters of the Phantom BULLET Manga.If my research is right it was somehow lost back in the day and never finished.Its no bummer though because its a very generic superpower kickass woman killing evil monsters plot as far as i can tell.

I would have prefered more Artworks instead of the Manga but its definately interesting to see one of Hiroes earlier works and how he progressed to the goodness called Black Lagoon.Both are pretty good from the artistic view but BL plot seems alot better.Theres also an Interview with Hiroe and Kinoko Nasu,who seems to be one of Type Moons Scenario writers, at the end of the book.I guess its about the production process of Fate/Stay and how they worked together.

The Book finishes with a 4 page Manga where all of Hiroes babes rumble at an Onsen,naked of course…

Oh boy…I cant believe that not even a year passed since i started collecting figures.My List already counts 22 little Ladies.I didnt expect that the fever would hit me that bad.I recently updated my TsukiBoard List and it struck me like Thunder when i saw that i still have 13 figures on Preorder.There are a few Sega Figures and Revoltechs/Figmas among them but still enough “real” figures to make me wonder what ill eat the next few months ^^;

Please someone stop me from ordering more Girls in Boxes before ill sell a kidney or two

Ill start with the figures that should arrive at my doorstep in the next few weeks.Theres going to be one big haul this November that will make my wallet cry.

First off were having a figure i was trying to hunt down all year and i preordered her immediatly when there were the news of a re-release of her.The Creators Labo Rei Ayanami combines two of my favorite things: Rei and Shunya Yamashitas curvy Design.Its true she looks nothing like Rei at all but shes one smokin`hot babe i dont wanna miss.

NoseArtGirl is going to ship together with Rei and shes another Shunya Yamashita Design! I cant wait to hold her in my hand since she combines a BFG,hot body and the oldschool NoseArt Design of those planes back in the day.That shes cast-offable doesnt hurt either…

Canal is the third Yamashita Design that will find a new home in my flat.Im really excited how shell turn out since this is going to be my first ArtStorm figure.The Promo pictures looked very delicious.

Limit Gunz is the other ArtStorm figure i preordered.The odd thing is that i didnt order her for the figure but her really big ass gun.The girl is just the topping on the iced cake .Cant wait to taste it

From one big gun to the next one… Movics Yoko is big in more than one aspect: shes a 1/5 figure and will be my biggest figure up to date.I must admit that im not a fan of her facial sculpt or her eyes but i love her pose (^^;;;).I wonder how shell turn out in the end.

I recently finished watching Fate Stay/Night and now there are no reasons to hold back on the merchandise.I had to decide between Gifts Saber and Alters Meido Saber and chose this one because the work on her armor looks to be very exceptional.Gift is as far as i know a new player on the PVC market and ill wonder how the final product will turn out

Im usually no fan of ecchi figures but i couldnt take my eyes of Soniko holding her Valentines Chocholate.The thing that got my attention arent the non-existing clothes but her headphones.Im probably the only one ordering for that reason

I must admit that i have absolutely no idea who Kanzaki Kaori is but that didnt stop me from preordering her.Everything about her seems to be just right from the top to the base.Id like to see more girls wearing her kind of pants.

Theres no need to introduce Alice, since probably everyone visiting this blog owns her already.I preordered her at an European Retailer and i really hope that they will be able to fullfill their orders.Theres no way i can miss out this awesome figure!

DOA EX Summer Beach Kasumi

Here comes the second part of the great DOA Battle that doesnt involve fighting for once.All that counts are the participants arguments.We have seen Ayanes arguments the last time and she had some damn good ones.This time well take a look at the challenger Kasumi the beautiful Nuke Nin and Eternal Rival of Ayane.

Kasumi is ,like Ayane, designed after a Shunya Yamashita drawing but youll only be able see the influence of him in Kasumis face.The bodydesign of DOA and Yamashita are pretty alike so it doesnt make that big of a difference in the proportions of the figure.Ayane turned out to be a pretty good Sega figure and Kasumi is no exception.She definately has her flaws but you can overlook them when you keep the price in mind.Ayane was struck pretty bad with seamlines and the paintjob was pretty good.Its the other way around with Kasumi: more decent seamlines but a not so good paintjob.Its really alright on the small parts like the bikini but her hair is struck with a really thick coat of paint.That gives her hair thats supposed to be flowing dynamically in the air more of a clunky feel.Thats my biggest complaint about Kasumi.Her hair is such a major part and yet it doesnt really look convincing.Shed look alot better if they had paid a bit more attention to it.Well shes a UFO Catcher price so they try to cut costs wherever possible…Thats also noteable in the PVC they used.Its one of those glossy types of material that makes her shiny

I like her kind of embarassed pose where shes trying to cover her eyes but to be honest thats bound to be failed.The only person that could cover those eyes with his hands has to be a Canadian lumberjack called Jaques living in the outskirts of civilization.Out of those two figures i prefer Ayanes pose a little bit more but both are typical Yamashita poses i like.Another thing i noticed about her is her daring bikini.Id love to see a real girl wearing a 2 piece like this in real life.I guess id be nosebleeding until i die from bloodloss.

I cant remember if i mentioned the bases in my last post.They are quite simple but still a nice extra.They are supposed to recreate a beach scenery and are successful with that^^

I dont regret buying those 2 figures and they are making my workspace a recreation resort ^_^

Its getting cold outside in Germany but that wont stop the lovely Dead or Alive girls from wearing their skimpy swimsuits infront of everyone.Ayane is the first girl that wants to convince us that swimsuits are the right choice to wear.

The Girls from Dead or Alive are known for their excellent fighting skills and well build bodies.The same goes for the Girls that Shunya Yamashita brings to paper.What do you get when you combine both together?Well…since both Artstyles are pretty similar youll only notice Yamashitas involvement when you take a look at the girls faces.The rest stays pretty faithful to the usual eye - heavy design.

This is my first Sega figure and i actually expected the figure to look like crap.Ive seen some pretty bad Sega figures on blogs but hey they are UFO-Catcher Prizes so what are you expecting?The Good News is that the figures arent really bad.Sure there a pretty obvious seamlines,glossy PVC and the paintjob is sloppy through and through but they still please the eye if viewed from the right angle.Ayane looks quite good from a frontal view but when you turn her for 90 degrees its a whole different story.The seamlines basically jump into your eye especially on her inner thighs and her hair.Her upper eyes are also a victim of the sloppy execution and make her depending on the viewing angle look a bit cross eyed

One of the nifty things about her is her halfway see through…errr…umm…thing you wear around your waist…How the hell is that called? A Scarf??.I really like it combined with her pose that was sculpted by Zenko who also did the first Shuraki Akatsuki Mishiro.The base that comes with her gives the scene a nice beachy atmosphere and with turn my desk into a leisure zone.

Keep her cheap price in mind and youll have fun with a sloppy yet charming figure
